These clear back display cases are a favorite with Pocket Watch Collectors and this is an excellent example with the old Hamilton Script on the top of each bezel. The bezels on these cases snap off as opposed to screw off, so I include a case opener tool for the purpose of easily opening the case to pull the lever to set the time. Most size 18s are 2 ¼ inches, this makes for an easily carried size 18 pocket watch. The Grade 940 is a size 18 measuring only 2 inches in diameter, a custom case. These Hamilton Display Cases were used at the turn of the century and not sold to the public the jeweler or jobber of the day as they were referred would use them for displaying these fine movements for sale, without getting dirt or debris in the movement.
